Class Description
Lisa teaches a traditional contemporary technique class
which is influenced by the principles of Limon, Graham and ballet. The
class starts on the floor with a warm up designed to access both fluidity
and core stability. Center combinations add torso and limb articulation,
changes of weight and direction, and freedom of movement to this base,
which is carried into across the floor combinations and small and large
jumps. Teachers who have inspired and influenced her work include Julia
Sasso, Kenny Pearl, Risa Steinberg, Judith Garay, John Ottmann and Christopher
House. Lisa has been teaching at Harbour Dance and at Anna Wyman for
the last 5 years, and her teaching is both articulate and grounded in
a thorough knowledge of the body.
