Judith Garay Bio

Judith is the Artistic Director of Dancers Dancing, and an Associate Professor of Dance at Simon Fraser University in the School for the Contemporary Arts. Judith began actively pursuing her choreographic career after establishing herself as a dancer of international caliber as a Principal Dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company. Her aesthetic has been shaped by living, dancing and choreographing in Victoria, Halifax, Toronto, London, Paris, New York and, since 1992, Vancouver. Since returning to her native BC Garay has created more than 25 works and her choreography has been seen in Holland the USA and Canada including more than a dozen places throughout BC.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Judith's class for CADA will contain a contemporary barre followed by centre and traveling. Judith's class is influenced by the technique of Martha Graham the teaching of Alfredo Corvino as well as a love of physicality and safe training methods.
