Helen Walkley Bio
Helen Walkley is an independent performer, choreographer, improviser
and teacher based in Vancouver, BC. She is also a certified Laban
Movement Analyst and holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from
SFU. Since 1980 has performed and taught extensively throughout Canada,
Europe and the US. In 2002/03 she was an Artist in Residence at the
Dance Centre in Vancouver.
Class description
Helen's somatic approach is based in Laban Movement Analysis, the
Bartenieff Fundamentals and the Developmental Movement Patterns from
Body Mind Centering. Her technique rhythmically integrates and mobilizes
the whole body in essential and fluid spatial forms from the earth
into the air.
