David Pressault BIO

David Pressault, founder of his own company, David Pressault Danse, danced for five years (1989-1994) with the Toronto Dance Theatre touring internationally. Now residing in Montreal, his native city, his focus has shifted to choreography. He has created an impressive body of work, presented across the country, to critical acclaim. In September 2001, along with the filming of his second short dance film for Bravo! Fact, he premièred his latest full evening work VIOLET, co-produced by Danse-Cité in Montreal at L'Agora de la Danse. He is presently preparing for a three week residency in Belgium which will be followed by the premiere of his latest creation “They Won't Lie Down” and a three week tour. Along with the performing and creating, he has a special interest in teaching which has brought him across the country both to teach and to create dances for many dance training institutions.

Class Description

David's class combines his own movement vocabulary and his influence of Graham principles. It focuses on moving in space with a strong emphasis on dancing choreographic material.
