CADA-ON 2009/10 Professional Development Program

Workshops & Conference
All workshops and the conference are available to the community at large and members get a discounted rate. Detailed information on workshop content and cost will be available in advance of the workshops on this website and included in the e-News. All take place at Centre for Social Innovation, 215 Spadina Ave., Toronto.

Knowledge Cafés
These forums are free opportunities for members to get together and discuss topics of their own choosing and are scheduled for the second Saturday of every other month at 11:00 am. at the Dark Horse Café, 215 Spadina Ave., Toronto. CADA-ON Board members and Professional Development Committee members will provide some informal structure but these are member-driven forums. Opportunity to identify topics is provided in the e-News and/or topics will be chosen on the spot.

CADA/BC Daily Professional-Level Contemporary Class

The BC Chapter, the Contemporary Dance Training Society of Vancouver (CDTSV), and The Dance Centre are partners in the presentation of ongoing Professional Level Contemporary Classes with various local teachers and visiting guest artists/teachers. These classes take place at the Scotiabank Dance Centre, 677 Davie St. (in downtown Vancouver) and are open to all dancers: professional, emerging professional, student, and recreational - with the technical level to participate and the desire to push their dancing in class.

  • Viewing by the general public is warmly welcomed.
  • These classes depend upon pre-registration to be presented.
  • Pre-registration is $10/class to allow as much flexibility for participants as possible.
  • Once a session begins drop-in attendance is open to all at $12/class.

DAY HELESIC: DECEMBER 7 - 11

A new pilot project is currently offering drop-in Professional Level Contemporary Technique classes between CADA/BC class sessions! Please look for more information about these classes at www.movent.ca

CADA/BC Master Classes & Workshops

 

With funding from the Canada Council for the Arts and Co-productions with local companies, the BC Chapter has presents Guest Artist Master Classes and Workshops. Previous Artists include Tedd Robinson, Marc Boivin, Jose Navas, Allen and Karen Kaeja, Margie Gillis, Julia Sasso, Davida Monk, Heidi Bunting, Benoit Lachambre, Kaya Kolodziejczyk, and Fabrice Ramalingom.
