Insurance Benefits
The vast majority of professional dance artists are self-employed and work on a contract basis. This means that access to social benefits is varied across the country and often limited. As such, private and extended insurance programs are sometimes the only source of vital financial resources during times of illness, injury or accident.
Accident Insurance
Members of the Ontario Chapter are automatically enrolled in a group accident insurance program. The policy provides coverage any where in the world, 24 hours a day in the event that an accident prevents you from working. You do not need to live in the province of Ontario to be covered by this policy.

Extended Health & Dental Insurance
Extended health and dental insurance is invaluable. Most professional dance artists do not have access to health benefits through an employer, which means that they are paying for essential health services out of their own pocket.
Medical services that many dance artists use on a regular basis to maintain their physical condition include massage therapy, chiropractics, osteopathy, naturopathy, physiotherapy and dentistry, and can be very expensive over time.
As self-employed freelance workers, and as dance artists, whose physical wellbeing is crucial to ongoing professional success, finding affordable ways to maintain your health - and recuperate after injury - is absolutely essential.
CADA recommends the following organizations which manage private, extended health and dental plans. Each organization provides slightly different services and plans that can be tailored to meet your personal needs and budget, so it is important to compare the options before selecting an insurance provider. There are many other organizations out there! If you find a good one let us know and we will include it on this list....
