Professional Rates & Benefits

Membership ID proves membership in good standing and provides access to professional rates.

As a right and responsibility, all Professional, Retired and Emerging Members have the power to vote on CADA issues and the Board of Directors is elected at the Annual General Meeting held every September.

Professional Rates are available through training, retail and performance venues across the country and internationally, and dance service organizations such as the Canadian Dance Assembly.

Accident Insurance provides coverage anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day. Accessible to all members across the country and automatically included with Ontario Chapter Membership Dues.

Professional Standards

The BC Chapter developed the Basic Dance Agreement (BDA) for all CADA members as a template for choreographers and dancers to negotiate the terms of employment contracts.

The Ontario Chapter developed Professional Standards for Dance (PSD) for all CADA members as an essential guide to working standards and conditions including Letter of Agreement templates.

Representation

CADA represents the membership at local and national level at roundtable discussions, community meetings and advocacy forums.

Staff are available for confidential consultations on contract negotiations and work place concerns as well as questions of professional standards and artists rights.

Training & Professional Development

Training Subsidy Program (TSP) reimbursements for the costs of professional training and development.

Professional Development Workshops are currently available in Communication and Conflict Management and are being developed in Contract Writing and Negotiation and Contingency Planning.
